Synthesis of Nanoparticles by Laser Ablation in Precursor Solution
Project Summary
Nanoparticles will be synthesized using pulsed-laser decomposition of a target foil immersed in a precursor solution. Interaction between the focused laser beam and the target generates a submerged-plasma, where ablation of the target, along with decomposition of the liquid precursor, combine to produce doped nanoparticles upon quenching by the surrounding un-reacted liquid precursor. The as-synthesized nanoparticles will be annealed and characterized by various techniques.
