Diverse Learning Environments: Campus Climate Study on Cultivating an Inclusive Student Experience
Project Summary
Rutgers-New Brunswick is one of the most diverse higher education institutions in the world, and we strive continuously to be an inclusive community that promotes the free and open exchange of ideas. To understand students’ perceptions of the campus climate, as it relates to experiences with respect and civility, Rutgers-New Brunswick participated in the Diverse Learning Environments (DLE) Survey. Conducted by the Higher Education Research Institute at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), this survey asked about academic work, interactions with faculty and peers, participation in campus activities, and use of campus services. This research project seeks up to 4 undergraduate students to conduct an explanatory mixed-methods design to examine the Rutgers-New Brunswick campus climate.
